Kamenashi,Kazuya is a member from the Johnnys unit KAT-TUN. He joined JE on November 8 1998 at the age of 12, and later choosen to be part of a group called KAT-TUN. KAT-TUN was officially formed on April of 2001. The name KAT-TUN was formed by taking the first letter of each members last name. K (Kamenashi,Kazuya),A (Akanishi,Jin),T (Taguchi,junnosuke), T (Tanaka,Koki), U (Ueda,Tatsuya),N (Nakamaru,Yuichi).KAT-TUN had mentioned that the (-) in the name stands for their fans.

  Kazuya is one of the most promising talents in Japan as of late. His popularity has sky rocketed since the formation of KAT-TUN. KAT-TUN has just recently debuted on March 22 2006 with their debut CD/DVD Real Face. Both have sold over 1.000.000 copies, also following the release of their debut was the CD Best of KAT-TUN featuring songs that they sang before they debuted. This CD also reached record sales. Kazuya is also taking the big screen by storm. Starring in popular dramas such as Gokusen 2, Kindaichi no Jikembu, Nobuta wo Produce and the up coming summer drama Sapuri. He has won best supporting actor award for Gokusen2, and best actor award for Nobuta wo Produce. He is someone we could expect to be seeing around for a long while.
